As a designer, I approach design with the understanding that mindsets, beliefs, and attitudes are just as important as technological and scientific advancements. I believe that behavior change is a powerful tool for creating change in complex systems. I'm passionate about using design to make the soon-to-be-normal feel less novel, and to shift our value systems. My design approach is heavily influenced by Quantitative Futurist Amy Webb, Terry Irwin's Transition Design, Ezio Manzini's principles of Design for Social Innovation, and the Boston Consulting Group's Deep Tech Ecosystem and Nature Co-Design. I utilize Design Thinking, Terraforming, Speculation, Narrative, Observation, and Prototyping to challenge assumptions, collaborate across disciplines, and to develop a deep understanding of needs, systems, and people.
